Tunnel

Ventured into the local bush, which is just across the road - went for a wander and found lots of good things .... this grass tree was huge ... and falling apart - it must be very,very ,very old. This is a view down the hollow of the "trunk".

Okay - explanation!! Grass trees as they are known now (used to be known as Black Boys - not any more for obvious reasons!) Proper name "Xanthorrhoea" -ancient native plant which only grows about 1/2cms a year and are a bit of Australian icon which survive and thrive after bush fires.
