Remembrance

Wednesday 11th November 2015 (1173)

A very moving service in school this morning. At 11am 250 children from Reception to Year 6 were totally silent for the Last Post and a minutes silence. They then beautifully sang "Be still for the presence of the Lord" and it was so powerful it brought a tear to my eye. 

I then attended the Carers AGM and lunch. The speaker was a local guy Andy Reid, who told his story of joining the army, various tours of duty and finally his tour in Afghanistan. His story of standing on an IED, becoming a triple amputee and his road to recovery was totally inspirational and I just had to buy his book. He is so down to earth and with a great sense of humour.
