The Ahuriri Valley near the Lindis Pass
Today dawned rather cold with a sharp southerly blowing but the sun was shining and we took the 4WD over Riverview Downs and Killermont Station for a "ward round" to see the grass growth and the Spring look of things before pulling up on the edge of the Ahuriri River overlooking the beautiful pink through to purple lupins and the water rushing by.
A gentle drive up the Ahuriri Valley this afternoon . A wondrous place …a flat valley floor with a few contours and wetlands rising to golden tussock in the hills before the South Island Beech stands mark the upper foothills of the alps.
