The Swimming Lesson

"Altogether now, heads down, pretend you are a speedboat  and blow out those bubbles "

The sun came out for a little bit so I visited Sanctuary Ponds to check out the blonde duckling.   Mother Duck was in the middle of giving her children a swimming lesson. It made me laugh because for many years I taught New Entrant children, encouraging them at swimming time to have the confidence to put their faces in the water. We always started by pretending they were motor boats, faces down and blowing bubbles as they put-putted noisily around the pool.  Gaining that confidence to put their face in the water was very hard for some children. I guess it wont be an issue for these ducklings.
