The calm before the storm!

After the recent downpours the water level in the pond in Queen's Park has risen considerably and all the horrible sludgy areas are now completely covered. I think the birds had prior warning about Storm Abigail ..... not a gull to be seen and the mallards had all moved to the much smaller upper pond where they could shelter on the small island.

The weather was fairly calm and mild first thing but by the middle of the afternoon the wind was starting to gust and it was raining ..... just what the forecast predicted.
