Monymusk, First Light
The day dawned bright and clear, although by 10am the sky was mostly cloudy, with small patches of blue sky visible until mid-afternoon.
This view, taken with a 21mm lens at around 07:50, shows the first light of dawn breaking over Monymusk, from a point just south of the crossroads at Pitfichie, looking downstream along the valley of the River Don .
Today's 'extra' was taken with a 70mm lens from the same spot around 6 minutes later, just seconds before the first golden bead of sunlight appeared above the clouds on the distant horizon.
