It can only get better

Heading home from an evening at my parents' where the Inversneckie branch of the family are staying while the NHS works another miracle.

So far this year, in the one family:
Young adenoids removed
Green stick break in young arm
New baby (hooray!!!)
Major, life saving surgery
Organ donation surgery

Through all of this they have shown just how good it is to be part of a family if it is functioning well - the resilience, courage and determination have been phenomenal.

Onwards and upwards.

(and deep gratitude that we live in a country where the health care system and employment legislation means that such a sequence of need doesn't throw a family into penury, or fear of it).
