Otter

Today I handstripped a daschund called Otter. Handstripping means I removed the old coarse hair by plucking it out between my thumb and first finger. The photo shows him half done, the old black hair on the left and the softer under hair to the right. When that's done ( it took me a good 3 hours, with little breaks so's Otter could stretch his little legs ) scissors are used to tidy up legs, head, beard and bottom. It's surprising how different he looked when he went home. You'd think it would be unpleasant for them, but Otter almost fell asleep, so comfy was he on the table!
