Veitch's Corner House

Veitch's has been an iconic corner in Peebles since 1874.     It has been standing empty for several years now, and is about to be opened as a Costa Coffee.  

Ambivalent!   I do like my morning coffee.   I'm not so sure about big chains moving into Peebles High Street - which has won awards for being the best independent retail site in Scotland.   On the other hand, the building has been unused for so long......
