A Rare Bird

Perhaps not in avian terms, but certainly a rare visitor to our garden, this sparrow hawk entranced us this morning by sitting on our fence drying out his wings!  He wasn't easy to focus on as he merges so well into the background, but I was delighted to capture him looking round.

The weather today was a bit of a shock to the system, with sleet, hail and snow as well as torrential rain.  Don't like it one little bit!  I drove in to Perth with a plan to purchase some winter pansies, but it was so cold that I couldn't stay outside long enough to choose them, so came home empty handed.

Huge concern today, as the blip site was down for so long, but pleased to see it back again and all working well.  Keep warm and dry this weekend:-)
