Storm Abigail did not stop play
Friday 13th Nov 2015 (1175)
I had had a good day off planned with two different things with two different friends. Unfortunately the weather put paid to one of those and I thought it would stop the other (golf) too. I was disappointed feeling that I was going to be home alone, not what I needed at this time.
This morning I stayed in bed waiting for my friend to phone and confirm cancellation of the golf. He phone and said he thought we might just manage to play before the bad weather set in. Help, I had half an hour to get up and ready!
We set off for our usual course, arriving there in heavy rain to find it was closed. We managed to find our original course, Haigh Hall, still open, although they thought we were mad wanting to play. We had a wonderful game in glorious sunshine as you can see, we didn't even have one drop of rain on us, but I have to say it was the strongest wind I have ever played in. It was great to be out in the fresh air and get some exercise, along with some good company and a good laugh - a great tonic.
Back home I had a relaxing afternoon finishing my book and working on our website. Yes, that was work but it was fun relaxing work. The bad weather set in, with rain and hail. Late afternoon I went out to the cinema to see "The Lady in the Van", a good film.
A good, much needed, day off.
