Looking out for cars . . .

Thursday morning, high tide.

Recently Orkney Islands Council has designated us a settlement, not a village, but a settlement, which seems to entitle us to some things and means they don't have to provide us with others.  It will be interesting to see if anything changes!

This is our only road.  There are on average 21 car journeys a day along it in each direction, which you would think would make it a pretty safe stretch of road, but we get fools speeding on it, and cats and dogs have been killed on it.  Single track with the sea on one side and houses and parked cars on the other and the speed limit is 60mph!  Madness!

Right, now I have that off my chest, I am off to batten down the hatches before Abigail arrives!
