Bean Thing

Mr S & I ventured to the cinema this afternoon for the first time in about 2 years to see Spectre (HOW MUCH?!!). My sister Harriet was kind enough to come and keep an eye on 10yo while we went....there was a catch....dinner...and it had to be Bean Thing.

Bean Thing started life in a Heinz cookbook I received about 20 years ago as Bean Moussaka. But as I don't like aubergines (replaced those with potatoes) and I don't eat meat, the ingredients dwindled somewhat and it was no longer worthy of it's original name. And so evolved "Bean Thing". It is a staple meal in our house and even featured in my mother's speech at our wedding as she had been one of the first to enjoy it.

We were all very hungry so I didn't get chance to catch it before it got eaten I'm afraid.
