Life in a Northern Town.

New hamster.

Following my blip about Fifi la Mer, lovely Rob and Sue have enabled my instrument lust with a long term loan. A new hamster was what Sue suggested I tell my partner was in the enormous case when I lugged it into the house.

Aged about 9 or 10, I remember being mortified when my dad went to have a play on the organ in church after a school carol concert, and I chased after him, pleading "Please don't play 'The Sting', it'll be disrespectful!" He, of course, didn't, but I must admit that whenever I have the opportunity to play an instrument with keys, The Entertainer is the first thing that is plonked out. At least it was as soon as I'd strapped the accordion onto my body the right way up, anyway...
I am looking forward to showing it to my class, as I remember a conversation at the beginning of the year during a music lesson about how accordions worked, which involved some internet research and a bit of supposition.

I am blessed with very generous friends who indulge my whims and fancies, for which I am incredibly greatful. Being in the choir has introduced me to some of the most wonderful people who are on my wavelength in so many wonderful ways.
I am wondering if my boss will be as indulgent when I move into the classroom closest to her office next week!
