Jetty? What Jetty?
Clickychick wanted to see the water levels in Derwentwater. Shot by a couple of blippers had increased her desire, so after being thwarted yesterday we decided to have another go today. Fortunately the land slip which closed the A66 yesterday had been cleared although heavy machinery was still working there.
One of the places we visited was the Ashness Jetty where you usually can catch the launch which takes passengers round the lake. To show you want the launch you stand on the end of the jetty. Today you would have been nearly waist deep!
The steps down to the jetty had a little stream of water running down then from the drainage coming down hill from the Ashness road. It can just be seen in this shot. Incidentally the notice on the post to the left warns the jetty is slippery when wet! The very end posts of the jetty aren't showing on this shot they only appeared at odd times in the trough of a wave.
