Waiting for a space on the feeder. The birds use every precious daylight minute to fill themselves up. And aren't those daylight moments precious to us all at this time of year.

I preferred the Blue Tit to this picture, but am keeping it as a part of the story of the River Eamont. Taken from the bridge at Pooley Bridge, this is the outflow of Ullswater, i.e. the River Eamont. But looking more like a lake itself at the moment. The surge of water from the lake was amazing to watch. No wonder the river bursts its banks all the way downstream - see yesterday's blip and Hazelina's blip today.
