What light through yonder window breaks?
Looking at this photo now makes me feel a bit stalkery, but it was the only way to illustrate what I wanted to say!
It's very strange to us, seeing lights on again next door, and especially at this particular window.
This was always Eileen's spare bedroom and I don't ever recall (in 8 years of living here) seeing a light on in there.
The new neighbours (Jon & Emma) have converted this into their kitchen, so we are having to get used to seeing someone at the window.
They very kindly gave us the guided tour when we called round last night. I'd been curious to see what changes they'd made as the layout was the opposite to ours when Eileen lived there.
Mr A had shown them around our house when they were thinking of buying next door, which gave them a few ideas of what they could do with it if they bought it. Mr A thinks he should have got commission for the sale!
They've divided their home lengthways down the middle; beds and bath on one side and lounge & kitchen on the other (whereas ours is divided widthways with beds/bath at the front of the house and living area at the back). It works really well and they've maximised space that was wasted before.
The kitchen is huuuuuuge and really nice too; I'd like it in our house!
We've been provisionally invited to the housewarming so we can't complain about noise levels!, but this won't be until all the little jobs are done.
I think they're going to love living there :-)
