Perhaps a Silver Lining

Today has been a rollercoaster. This morning Miller was still hobbling lame, a phone call to the vet, settled on the return of the farrier to have another delve into the hoof to try and find the source of the infection. In between while returning to work I spotted a Donkey, in the field  at the bottom of our drive, acting strangely. Upon closer inspection her newly born foal was ensnared in the boundary fence. A call to the owner, climbed through  hedge and untangled the little chap, owner an mare and foal reunited!
Return home after work to be told by Mrs A S that the farrier had got the infection in Miller hoof to drain and things were looking up. Just as I started a cup of tea and the prospect of a quiet night in, the phone rang to say Miller was showing signs of colic!  Vet called, long wait, a thorough examination injection given and hourly checks until midnight, any return of discomfort  and we have to take to the vets surgery pronto.
So far so good. Fingers crossed.
My only snatched image of the day perhaps a silver lining.
