Under Repair
Found this at a university library. This sign covered over the display of a self service machine through which books can be issued, letting us know that the machine cannot be used at the moment. It was the first time for me to see this sign on it and so I got puzzled for a moment, then I walked to the desk to borrow a book as instructed by the sign. There are only two machines at the library, and the other one was occupied then.
The book I borrowed is about place names around Britain, which refers to the meanings and origins of them. It is partly because of a lecture I attend this semester, the history of English. I didn't find any interest in the language history the last time I took a similar lecture, but now I enjoy looking into it; I guess that is because I had actually gone on to districts mentioned in the lecture as having importance in historical terms, like Cornwall. Meanwhile the more I learn about Wales in the lecture, the more I feel regret not having visited it...maybe someday.
