Prestonfield War Memorial
A beautiful spot in the centre of a housing scheme in south Edinburgh. The memorial was built with money raised by local people and is only to those who died in World War 2, the estate not having been there in WW1.
A remembrance service is held there every Armistice Day and the grounds have been adopted by the local Primary School. The gardens are beautifully maintained by "Prestonfield in Bloom". The roses are blooming just now and the fragrance is beautiful!
And I have a geocache hidden here, so came past with the girls to check it out before our holiday. It's still there :-)
