Screw It
Out mid morning for our walk - not wanting to get a soaking from storm Barney this afternoon, which, as I write this, has arrived!
We came across a farmer on his quad-bike spreading something over a field of wheat. He stopped to talk and he said it was anti-slug pesticide. The field he was doing is about a third destroyed and he is trying to protect the remains. Another of his fields has been almost completely wiped out and he is planning to re-drill it - although he fears it may not get established before the winter. Apparently the warm and wet September this year was perfect for slugs!
After the walk I was making some modifications to the shelving for Mrs madwill's fabric stash - involved drilling and screwing some battens on the supports to stop the fabric falling off.
This was the screwdriver bit and the head of one of the screws - just lit with the daylight bulb in the sewing room
