The Daily Telegraph reports that Thames Water has found the levels of gold being flushed down drains is comparable to that found in working goldmines. £13 millions worth every year!

Tiny quantities of gold is rubbed away from rings, jewellery and even gold fillings during the routine process of washing hands and cleaning teeth. All these tiny deposits collect in the sludge at processing plants. 

Experts say the advantage of extracting it is that they wouldn’t need to mine for it. I would like them to define ‘mine’…

In other news: I have just returned from photo club. We hosted a quarter final of the South London Federation (SLF) Mono competition against 4 other clubs. It was a tight run thing but we came out winners and go forward to the semi-finals next February. No one can remember ever winning before... ;o)
