SLEEPY STROMNESS
Up early and after a delicious breakfast at Ardconnel House B&B, thoroughly recommended and we shall certainly book there again, we set off northwards for Scrabster and the ferry to Stromness. A dry crossing, spent entirely on the rear outside deck and plenty of birds to look out for.
Once disembarked we tootled up what seemed to be the main street in Stromness in search of a butcher and grocer. Once found I had a few minutes to grab some photos before we drove to the holiday cottage and unpacked. It is a bungalow and we shall get lost in it.
A Short-eared Owl appeared on a fence post outside the window and quartered the ditch running down to the sea, and two Hares munched and hopped about in the grass. Idyllic, I have arrived in Heaven.
