The Royal Cafe (again)
Roving blipper and all round good guy SteinJ swooped into town momentarily before heading off to some other further flung destination.
We have Heriot-Watt University in common - he's an alumnus, from back in the days when the Norwegian government regularly sent a young army over the North Sea to Edinburgh. There were so many of them, lecture theatres often felt like a distant outpost of the University of Bergen.
We may also have a royal connection - Margreta, 'The Maid of Norway', was the daughter of the King of Norway and the granddaughter of Alexander III of Scotland. When her grandfather died, the young Norwegian princess inherited the Crown of Scotland and preparations were made for her coronation. But the sea voyage from Norway proved too much, and she died before reaching land. (Unlike the hordes of Norwegian students, nine centuries later.)
I'm wondering if that Queen of Scotland title is still going a-begging......?
