The Plant!

I mentioned this plant, which I received for Christmas in 2013, the other day. It didn't flower last year but this year it has a lovely red flower. I don't think I have ever known what it is, as it has a care instruction tag but there is nothing to say what it is!

We now have no hot water or heating, as the boiler has packed in working. I thought they would come to fix it this morning and got up early. I'd been misinformed though - they weren't coming, just ringing to book an appointment to come at some point in the future. That point being next Tuesday! A long time to be without heating or hot water at this time of year, especially with lower temperatures being forecast for the weekend! 

Bri called them back, as he'd been told Monday, and he managed to get booked in for Saturday, after a bit of pleading and laying it on thick about Jae's asthma!

 I should have remembered how true it is that the squeakiest wheel gets the most oil when I was speaking to them, but no - I was in "up-and-peppy" customer service mode and actually said Tuesday would be "Awesome!" I guess it was just too early in the day for me and I wasn't thinking straight!

I'm going out for lunch soon with some friends, to a restaurant I've not been to before! I always like trying out new places!
