Manchester Victoria Station

A trip to Manchester today to meet up with a friend. have lunch and do some shopping.   Victoria Station has been refurbished at a cost of £44 million pounds.   Quite swish but you won't be surprised to hear that rail travel hasn't improved one bit.   Delayed train on the way out due to signal faults and cancelled trains on the return journey due to a tree having blown down across the track on the line to HB.   No info' and no alternative transport offered.  So I took the Metrolink tram to Milnrow (nr Rochdale) and Mr MD drove there to collect me.   What a fun filled day - saved by a large G & T.   -:)
