It's But a Mere Picture...
[Firstly, the title department apologises - the picture is of Buttermere and they couldn't resist...]
An early start, as we wanted to to get to Castlerigg Stone Circle for dawn. I say we wanted to; Chris wanted to, and I (Annie) was more than happy to sleep in and see dawn on the screen on the back of the camera. But I went anyway - and it was beautiful, despite not being the best light (and much rain rolling in).
Back to the hotel for breakfast, then we met up with Graham Colling for a short photographic adventure over to Buttermere. He's up this week with a host of other blippers at LPH - do have a look at their images of their week, always fun to see different takes on places when people visit together. Their journals are linked to from Graham's post here.
Back into Keswick for the afternoon, then we popped in to say hello at LPH to everyone else there. We were so touched by the really warm welcome we received from everyone - and we were even asked to stay for dinner. Previous guests at LPH will know that you don't say no to that - yum! So lovely to catch up with Gail and John - thank you so much for your hospitality. :)
I'm proud to say, it's my (Annie's) picture that has made the blip today. I loved the fact that the fence and gateway is currently separating water from more water, but leading you into the trees and hills beyond. We waited for the light to roll across - a lot of cloud and rain around also! We should note (as John reminded us earlier), it's the 6th anniversary of the terrible floods that affected this area - so while it's wet, it could be much worse.
