Something told the wild geese...

....it was time to go.

Having come out the house the last 2 mornings and heard the geese going over but been too late for the photo I was delighted this morning to be in the right place , at the right time AND with my camera handy. There is a large Nature and Bird Reserve nearby and every winter we are visited by lots of geese coming down from the frozen north to winter here. They feed all day in the nearby fields and fly over in these huge, raucous flocks on their way to the feeding grounds. Nature at its best.
