Strange?

Back in Arizona with all its "strange" plants.
I am intrigued by "strange" as relative as that definition is.
I would have guessed that plants like the one in this photo would have become common to me after all these years but I would have been wrong.
I wonder what the trigger is for the conversion from strange to normal?
It is obviously not time.
Maybe it's the degree of flexibility in perception?
Hmmm...not sure I like the implication of that when applied to myself so it must be something else. :)
I guess I need to seriously challenge my perception.
