Hanging in there . . .

Spotted this while I was having a bit more of a tidy up in the garden. Brave hollyhock!  Not the best specimen, but still flowering in late November, and there are buds on it as well!  

It has been well sheltered by a huge artichoke plant for most of the year and it is only really now, when the artichoke has died down, that it is having to brave the elements unprotected. Would be quite something to have it in flower for Christmas!
