Phantom sun

A sundog (mock or phantom sun) above Scout Scar late this afternoon; these are formed from hexagonal ice-crystals drifting in the air at low levels. We could only see one sundog, but apparently it's an atmospheric phenomenon consisting of a pair of bright spots on either side of the sun, often co-occurring with a luminous ring known as a 22 degree halo.
