Ah-tissue!
This was my favourite image of today. My special wee man 'needing' to take a hanky with him down the cave because "I have a cold".
I don't know that it actually got used but he held onto the cut up tea towel the whole way. When he wanted to use it back in the bus he said 'It's wet!' (understatement!!) But, Duncan explained that that didn't matter when he blew his nose he would make it wet anyway! That was accepted!!!
Only got part way down the cave this morning before turning back due to the amount of water rushing through it. It was 'raining' down on us through the stone as well as rushing past by our feet! I was sorry we had kids with us at that point as I'd have loved the thrill of going through! I felt quite exhilarated!
This afternoon I was caving again but there had been no let up in the torrential rain and now the caves were flooded. We tried the 'dust bin' and Yordas caves in Kingsdale instead of Ribblehead, but could only get into the mouth and just spent our time looking at the flooded chamber ahead and finding evidence of the fact that this morning the water in these caves would have been above our heads!
