Vineyard feast

This evening we had supper outside a shed in the middle of a vineyard. It has no water, no electricity and no loo, but it is the most convivial of places to pass an evening

This cabanon cab-a-nous is the garden shed of our pals Michel and Christiane. Christiane was a member of the English class we used to help run. Our group of french women seem
to have been impervious to our teaching but we have remained firm friends.

It's quite usual to find a beautiful garden in the middle of nowhere and theirs is no exception. There's an orchard, box hedging, a herb garden, an enormous vegetable garden and lots of flower beds.

It's such a treat to share supper with friends on a balmy night listening to the cigalles. How did I get to be so lucky?
