M6 Chaos

I work a few feet from the busiest stretch of motorway in Europe.  It was clogged up this evening.  I made the inspired decision to travel 10 miles north-west (the wrong way), then take the M6 Toll Road back south-east.  My colleague didn't and was stuck for over an hour.
