CHESS

After a lovely, but exhausting day leading our quarterly day retreat, I mustered just enough energy to start teaching the VIP chess.  We are using a method of playing with only the pawns at first, then gradually introducing other pieces and their ‘special powers’ – well they are Lego minifigures and we are used to the notion that these have particular powers.  Later, while the Prof was out singing at the Barony I lulled him to sleep with the latest episode of the adventures of Hero Dog.
 

I’d planned to spend the rest of the evening watching The Bridge – I do like a dark Nordic drama – but I fell asleep in the first twenty minutes.
