The Turner Prize

The Turner Prize this year is being hosted by The Tramway in Glasgow, which is literally around the corner from me. 

Exhibits (see extra photos) include 'Untitled Chair' by Nicole Wermers, featuring vintage women's fur coats sewn onto designer chairs, which marks out ownership of a public space. 'Patterns' by Bonnie Camplin is a series of five video interviews in which people recall extraordinary experiences. 'Doug' by Janice Kerbel, takes the form of nine songs for six unaccompanied voices - taking us through a series of disasters/ accidents. 

My favourite is pictured called 'Granby Workshop' by Assemble (18 artists), a social enterprise set up with people in Toxteth to refurbish some of the houses in the area that were allowed to fall into disrepair.
