Chaffinch

Woke up to blue skies but icy puddles!  Tried out a new recipe this morning Chocolate Fudge Cheesecake Brownies, delicious but probably very fattening!!  Went for a walk over the fields and liked this Chaffinch, took quite a few shots before he flew off, liked this one best.  Had cuppa with a friend this afternoon.  Put extra on of some lichen on a Walnut tree. Does anyone know if the little dark patch is new lichen forming and how does it get there? Fascinated by it but know nothing about it:)
