White Cane Safety Day

Today was the Lion's White Cane Safety Day in Oxnard, CA.  This little guy was there as a mascot of sorts trying to raise awareness and collect money and even used eyeglasses to help those who are blind or visually impaired.  I went home and looked up this event on line and found that White Cane Day is usually on October 15th, so it was interesting why it was today, which is more known for the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
