Firework
Back on the farm for the day, to collect my things and harvest as many organic veggies as I can fit in a Toyota Previa.
This is a zinnia flower. The name refers to a genus of some 20 species native to Central and South America. They are very popular garden flowers, often used to attract butterflies. The farm is growing them for a seed contract, rather than to sell as actual flowers. The color of the flowers varies from plant to plant; the ones growing in our beds are all sorts of reds, oranges, pinks, and yellows. Once I start taking pictures of them, I have a really hard time stopping.
