Freezing Weather

My son placed a bubbler in my small pond to help
the goldfish survive the winter.  He felt with the
constant water movement, the fish would not die
from lack of oxygen and hopefully the pond would
not completely freeze over.
We had a quite cold day yesterday and nature
gave me a surprisingly  nice star design on the
water surface.  The outside perimeters did become
frozen bubbles.  Note that the inside is still
merrily bubbling away. By late afternoon, it
was completely frozen over, so I took a stick
and broke the ice.   I was charmed by nature's
creativity.
