The Great Ouse

We have walked twelve miles and are now totally conked out.
Weather very cold but dry and quite bright.

From Downham Market we walked 9 miles along the grassy banks of the Great Ouse to Brandon Creek where the very welcome Ship Inn is situated.   After shovelling down food and taking over the open fire to try and dry out my soaking socks and boots, we set off on the last 3 miles of the walk to Littleport.   My boots have sprung a leak and although it was not raining today the grass was very dewy.  We caught the train back to Downham Market from Littleport.

I'm scared to sit still for too long now in case I totally seize up.  Definitely another tipple by the fire evening for us.
