Windy

It was fantastically bleak up on the Fells today.The lying snow,  low layers of steely grey sky and incessant wind made Skiddaw look rather unappealing so we walked up Lonscale fell, a minor Wainwright but as so often with the minor ones the views were spectacular, or would have been with better visibility.
It certainly wasn't picnic weather today, but we did find a sheltered area by a beck to sit and eat our lunch. While we were there a young man approached us and looked a bit dubious about crossing the stream. He asked about the best way to go up but we said he would have trouble whichever way he went as he was only wearing trainers!
I was quite glad of the heated seats in LooseCanon's car today! They are great for warming your.........cheeks!
