Good job the camera has a zoom

Today was supposed to be a different picture - still of wildlife, but far lovelier than this chap who we nearly walked on yesterday.  However, my husband has had to go out and taken his phone, which has the picture on it. Saved for another day...

So Mr Night Adder, who we saw in the day, very nearly got trampled on by us as we walked back from the pen yesterday lunch time, he was probably about 50cm long and, thankfully, slip sliding away from us.  Although, apparently he doesn't bite often and isn't 'very' venomous.  Great.  I'm also told, that rain brings out the snakes as their little hidy holes get filled with water - and the night adder dines on toads, which of course come out in the rain.  Amazing what you are told after you move somewhere....

Dirk is out dealing with something to do with a couple of oiks and a cow, so I'm feeling highly domesticated having fed and bathed the boy who is now fast asleep, with the next job being to finish cutting out pieces for the mobile I'm making him for Christmas.
