Lupins in the Ahuriri river bed.

This is glider country and I'm astonished that even in today's wild nor'wester that the tow planes are busy hauling the brave gliders aloft. Here on terra firma the wild lupins are just beginning to bloom along roadsides and in wide sweeping acres across the braided river bed of the Ahuriri.
