The Quarry

Today got off to a lovely late start. The Little Misses were up and about early - making their beds perfectly (which is a first!!), playing chess, watching Tiny Pop (and making disturbingly long lists for Father Christmas based on the many, many adverts!) and sliding down the bannisters.
Mr K and I had a bit of a lie in which was a treat.
After a fortifying breakfast of cocoa pops we headed up the quarry for another lovely walk. I love seeing the Little Misses running around, scrabbling up the mountainside, collecting all their "special" rocks, bits of slate and treasures.
I left them up there with my mum and Mr K and headed back to the house to start packing up and cooking a roast dinner for us all.
After lunch there was screeching and complaining about having to do homework.
A bit more packing and cleaning before heading off to Mr D's for a last cup of tea and some cake to keep our strength up on the journey home!
I forgot to mention last night that Miss L had bought some sparklers with her pocket money and kept them to bring up for Uncle D's birthday.
Last night we all went out into his garden and had a magical time with them. What a brilliant, special idea of Miss L's. Who says sparklers are only for fireworks night?!!
The journey home was a lot less eventful than the journey up. The Little Misses fell asleep before we got out of Wales, we stopped for tea at Starbucks and then had an uninterrupted drive. Home by 9pm!
Just time for more cake, the Strictly results, a bowl of porridge and bed.
Oh and some yummy Lindt chocolate.
Best get back on the diet tomorrow!!!
