Hip hip hooray

Here I am, standing on my new hip and feeling very happy. 
Just one month after surgery! Amazing, isn't it? 
Saw the  surgeon yesterday and   I'm following his instructions which allow me do much more than I expected at this stage. It is mostly a question of what my muscles permit me to do and they are behaving very well indeed. All the hard work I did before surgery had paid off and I haven't needed a single session with a physiotherapist since I left the hospital on day 6.

We stayed at a convent just outside Bologna where I'd had to go in order to see the surgeon.

The extra shots are just  views of our drive home home from Bologna. There was spectacular scenery all the way, from  mountains in the north down through the center. and back home where the sun was shining to welcome us .
 I'm still surprised to see how beautiful Italy is. 
I thought the image on the back of the truck was amusing. I think it is the Madonna of Medjugorje.
