TT festival
What you are looking at is my view for most of yesterday night. I was stagemanager at one of the stages for the "TT-festival".
Every year since 1925 (except for WWII, according to wikipedia) Assen hosts the Tourist Trophy: a biker event. Well, the TT itself is a biking event, but it draws big crowds that come from all over, and to stop the crowds from doing what people in crowds do best (i.e. behaving stupidly), they are being distracted by the biggest party ever.
There were about 70.000 people having fun in the smallish town of Assen yesterday, which is quite a lot. The 5 bands we had on included Feuerengel. Now they are a Rammstein cover-band, but there is nothing that says "cover band" if you see the show. Fireworks, flamethrowers, flashbangs, total madness.
Anyway, no real serious problems, some minor issues (like 4 different timetables in circulation between me, the crowd and various bands, meet&greets that the band knew nothing about, too little beer for the bands (this was actually a big problem of course) and festival-style digusting things they called "toilets").
About 05:30 I could finally give my eyes a rest :)
