Musa Acuminata Gastropod

Banana Slug is the common name for the species of tree slug known as Musa acuminate gastropod. From the genus Musa, these common gastropods are usually found hanging in trees and can vary in size and colour. Their heads are small with bodies that are usually elongated and curved. They are so named because of their skin which has the look and feel of a banana rind. Their colour also varies from green, yellow, red, purple, or brown, depending on age and maturity. They tend to be sociable creatures and hang together in clusters from the tops of trees. Almost all banana slugs come from two wild species – Musa acuminata and Musa babisilauita.
