The Big Red Fly

These paperbark trees were covered in blossoms which were playing host to many of these iridescent red flies who seemed to be continuously supping the sweet smelling nectar!

Every time I approached without the camera they stayed where they were then when I put the camera up they all moved on! It was hilariously frustrating! :o))
