Gilding the lily

Or glittering the rose. My Mother won a monster of a flower arrangement following a class today. It was pretty hideous I must admit, 3ft long twigs shooting out the top, gold and green wire wrapped around it and a very cheap Christmas decoration front and centre. All those were soon removed and it doesn't look too bad now. Apart from the roses. I mean who takes a beautiful, perfect rose and adds gold glitter to it!
Not been a brilliant day, so short and sweet.
